It was a pretty good weekend.
I didn't do much Friday. I bought the sims online and started my account so now I can play my favorite computer game with people all over the world. Yay! It was so fun too. I'm already hooked. So on Saturday I got up extra early and took Richa to work and then went to kickboxing. After that I went back to the apartment, took a shower then packed and left for home. When I got home I went to a family function. Man, I haven't been to anything like this in a long time since no one has gotten married or hit a big birthday in a long time. It was celebrating my great grandmother's (on my mom's side) 85th birthday and my great uncle's 60th. It was held at some hall in Galveston. They had a live band, barbeque, a cash bar and three cakes. It was a big to-do. My great grandmother was having the time of her life, dancing with everyone and being able to see all her "grandchildrens." I was really bored of course because I hardly ever see any of this family anymore so they don't really talk to me. It was cool hanging out with the family I usually see though. I even got to drive our new truck back home. Talk about a completely different feel when you go from driving a little honda Civic to a big Ford V-8.
Sunday
On Sunday we went to see
"Alegria," one of the Cirque Du Soleil shows. It was in Houston, so we met at my uncle's house in Pearland to celebrate my Welo's belated birthday. All of my immediate family was going to the show so everyone was at the house. It's so fun when we all get together. So we went to the show which was so very awesome. It was better than the last Cirque show we saw and the music was also really great. Afterwards we went to Chili's to eat. Our waiter was someone that went to my highschool and he didn't know who I was. Well, he was a couple of years older, but it's hard not to know someone from Danbury if you're remotely close in age. Anywho, my dad embarrassed me by pointing out that I knew him and asking him if he knew me. Well, he finally remembered, but yeah the embarrassing Alexis deal had already been done. Oy. I ordered nachos and they were nasty. Never eat nachos from Chili's. They were truly sad. My mom thought so too.
Monday
Today we went to the dollar theater to see
Maid in Manhatten. It was cute, but I'm glad I didn't pay full price to see it, or I might have been a little disappointed. Ralph Fiennes is pretty handsome, but to me the story lacked something, but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe I'll think about it later. Anyway, I better go and stop tying up the phone line. I miss my ethernet already. BUT I'm going back to Austin tomorrow so I don't miss my Vale Tudo class. Have a good week and/or Spring break y'all. Adios!
