I went home this weekend expecting to be bored out of my mind but getting some great food. I went home because my sister had her first communion on Sunday (yes, we're catholic). Well, we left on Friday and got home about 9:00. One of the first things I get is a bill for my cell phone that was late that I hadn't paid yet. Then my mom tells me my great grandfather is "on his last leg" and that most of my family is at the hospital. Mind you, he's 90 years old and has apparently been dying for 20. Well, my uncle comes over and tells us about what's going on at the hospital. Then him and my mom (a bit crudely) reminisced about what they remember about "Grandpa." Anyway, on Saturday I went and spent a whole lot at JCPenny cause they had a big sale and I needed a dress to wear at my sister's communion. I found the best dress I ever owned....of course it wasn't on sale. I found some cute stuff though, I was quite proud. Then at 3, Kismet had her 2 week late birthday party at the city pool. Now, I remembered the city pool being a lot dirtier, but I guess since it was closed to the public for the party it turned out ok. We went to Walmart that night and I saw at least 10 people from Danbury in that hour we were there. Sunday my sister looked like a little angel during mass (but yeah the horns came out later ;) ) Afterwards we had a little party for her with lots of goodies (much of with came home with me). I went with Philip to give his cousin a graduation card and was there for a while. Whew, talk about awkward situations. You know, when you're with people you hoped you might not have to ever talk to again....yeah...So after the party I took philip back to his parent's house to drop off the truck her borrowed for the weekend. I forgot something at home so we had to go back before coming back to Austin. So we drive up and I hop out. Mom tells me Grandpa died that afternoon, that she had just found out from her cousin. *sigh* i think this was the most bittersweet weekend I've ever had.
